First entry seeing as I wanted to keep an online travel diary of my first (and furthest) jaunt away from home with my old girly friend Dawn (rather than with spouse or family) I stumbled across this site which was totally FREE to use and so thought I'd sign up and of course I need to have a practise at using it, so here is my first entry albeit from the UK.
Hopefully I can start as I mean to go on and hopefully I'll have time to write up my notes whilst out there, especially as they'll be fresh in my memorry, I may be far too busy (which I imagine realistically I will be), but the bonus of youth hostels is free internet access so no excuses there!
Anyway currently I am sat at work in Totnes, it's a glorious day and I have 3 days left to go till I board that flight and embark into the unknown. Not bad. Especially not when you consider I have been planning this holiday since I was 16 (I'm now 29) and that i began the countdown to it at 16 months, 3 weeks, 5 days.... (I kid you not). Better late than never and all good things I say, this could also explain why my bag has actually been packed ready to go since the weekend, not that I'm desperate to get on holiday or anything you understand.
All I have to do is to get through the next 2 days at work and for them to be as pain free as possible although trust me this isn't happening, everyone seems to have lots of petty things that are really crisises waiting to happen and they're trying to make me care about them... ha!
Well I have one night left of my cleaning job, 1 circuit training session, 2 (mostly) full days in the office, 1 hair appointment, 1 trip to the vets (not me, my cat -my cat who has been incredibly ill over the weekend is slowly but surely recovering thank god) 1 journey back to Coventry and then hopefully Friday will be pain free. Apart from said stupid o clock time I have to get up to get to Heathrow and then when I land in SF at 2pm my body will be telling me that I actually got up at 4am and the time is now 10pm back in the UK... but I shall resist the temptation to give in to exhaustion, it's a minor detail and chances are I'll be more like a dog with two tails.
3 weeks, 3 whole glorious work free weeks - whose rather marvellous idea was that?
oh yes that'd be mine then!
